We have been very busy painting, sculpting, glueing, cutting, drawing
and observing. Look for signs of spring in the art hallway, our
palette is changing with the weather.
- The preschoolers have recently finished making expressive monoprints,
cut paper fish bowls and shape trains. Their natural curiosity about
art inspires me as a teacher every day.
- First graders have been working on cut paper self portraits and
learning about horizon lines with their dinosaur landscape paintings.
- Second graders just finished an exquisite underwater sea-creature
display which is hanging in the art room. Ask them about it, they are
very proud!
- Third graders are now painting their paper-mache dogs plus one cat.
It is simply a joy to watch these artists at work!
- Fourth graders are working on cut paper animal faces with patterned
backgrounds, this is a challenging project but they are proving to be
focused and patient artists.
- Fifth graders just finished painting their paper-mache owls and are
now working on a "spring" project which you might catch a glimpse of
soon.
- Sixth graders just finished their silhouette paintings with ink and
watercolor and are eager to begin working with clay.
- Seventh and eighth graders have been working hard on intricate flower
paintings and learning more about mixing colors.
We welcome recycled materials especially cardboard and heavy paper.
Please feel free to drop by for a visit, the children love to share
their projects with family and friends.
Thank You, Jackie Boudreau Kinsey
