The highlight of this month will be our pilgrimage to the Monastery of the Visitation and the Shrine of Divine Mercy. We are very grateful to all of our benefactors who bought books, pastries and cookies and offered donations to help us pay for our transportation.
As well as preparing for our pilgrimage, in religion class we will also be taking a look into religious vocations. Father Roux will be visiting the school in the beginning of the month to share his vocation story.
In reading class we will begin A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. This is a science fiction novel which incorporates many Christian themes. In language class students will be introduced to diagramming sentences in our grammar study, they will also be conducting research and writing reports on specific religious communities.
Our math class begins with a look at geometry, finding area, perimeter and volume of given shapes. In the second half of the month we will begin a unit on ratio, proportions and percents. In science class we will be completing our technology unit with a study of a manufacturing system. We will also begin a unit on the wet lands and the importance land conservation.
